The master's in pharmaceutical sciences, drug development option (45 credits) is a program that requires prior completion of the DESS in drug development (2-670-1-0, 30 credits).


Only students who have completed the DESS in drug development can register for an internship or a 15-credit tutorial.


The credits of the internship or the directed work are then added to the credits of the DESS to give the 45 credits necessary for the granting of the degree of M.Sc.


Drug Development option

The objective of the program is to train specialists capable of contributing to the conduct and evaluation of scientific studies or activities related to the development of a drug or its monitoring, whether in the industrial, hospital-university or governmental.

Admission requirements

To be eligible as a regular student for the master's in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Drug Development option), the candidate must:
  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Academic Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • have completed the DESS course in drug development
  • have completed all the required credits of the segment corresponding to the concentration of their internship or supervised work, i.e. one of the segments 70C1 (regulation, manufacturing and compliance), 70C2 (clinical research), 70C3 (pharmacoeconomics and market access) or 70C4 (pharmacovigilance and risk management)
  • a student who has completed his DESS, but who has not completed all the required credits of the segment corresponding to the concentration of his internship or his directed work may nevertheless be conditionally admitted to follow and pass a maximum of 6 course credits concurrently with his internship or supervised work in order to complete this segment
  • have obtained, in the DESS, an average of at least 3.0 out of 4.3 or the equivalent

Candidates must demonstrate a good knowledge of French and English.
