The MSc in Bioinformatics at Aarhus University is an interdisciplinary programme that combines biology, statistics, and computer science to develop and apply computational solutions for analysing biological and biomedical data. 


As a student in this programme, you choose a project and two out of three specialisations:  


  • Algorithms and Programming 
  • Machine Learning and Data Science 
  • Molecular Evolution and Genomics 


You also benefit from a collaborative academic environment, regular scientific and social activities, and close interaction with peers from related programmes - all in which create a dynamic and supportive learning community. 


The skills and knowledge you acquire through the programme provide you with a solid foundation to solve real-world problems in research and industry. 


The programme is based at the Bioinformatics Research Centre (BiRC), known for its emphasis on molecular evolution, molecular population genetics, and statistical and algorithmic approaches to bioinformatics. 


Career: 


Graduates work as specialists in the biotechnology and biomedical industries, or other areas that require computational analysis of lots of data. They are also in demand in the IT industry as consultants and software developers.
