Economics and Business Administration is the English version of the Danish degree in Business Administration, HA. The international focus of the degree means that teaching and literature are in English.
The subjects at Economics and Business Administration
At Economics and Business Administration you work with subjects such as organizational behavior, strategy, financial management, external financial statements, logistics, marketing, financing, micro- and macroeconomics, business law and business economics methods. You analyze business economics management problems such as financing decisions, optimizing production planning or improving customer satisfaction. You also learn about how companies and institutions are affected by society, technology, general economic conditions and legislation.
You specialize along the way
At Economics and Business Administration you have the opportunity to put your own stamp on your education. In your fifth semester you have the opportunity to put together your own study program from a wide range of electives offered in the program, or you can go on exchange at one of our many partner universities. In the sixth semester you have the opportunity to choose to write a bachelor's project within the business economics topic of your choice. After that, we have a large selection of cand.merc. lines, where you can specialize within one specific business economics discipline.
Everyday life at Economics and Business Administration
You will have your daily routine at Aarhus BSS - Department of Business Management and Department of Economics. Teaching at Economics and Business Administration takes place primarily in the form of lectures, class teaching and reading group activities. You will have around 20 hours of teaching per week, and you are expected to spend approximately the same number of hours on preparation.
Career opportunities
Economics and Business Administration gives you broad business economics insight and competencies in areas such as marketing, financial management, organizational development, management strategy, stock trading or development projects, and many of our graduates end up in management or specialist positions.
