The Department of Physics, Faculty of Education, Alasmarya Islamic University was established in 1998 and offers educational program (bachelor's) in Physics. The program has 135 credits, 64 courses, and a minimum of 7 semesters of study for graduation, 52 students graduated, and 08 batches of students have been enrolled in the program up to this year.
Considering the importance of Physics Department, this program emphases on training and qualifying teachers, and it provides graduates with information that help them to prepare educational lessons with high professionalism. It is in demand by the community due to the nature of the of the physics labor market, this program trains teachers to teach the subject at the elementary and secondary education levels. Besides, it encourages and develops scientific research to enhance the field of physics.
This program aims to prepare specialized, and scientific human graduates with sufficient physics education to meet society's demands as they proceed to the intermediate education stage. In addition, to prepare educators to use contemporary teaching techniques and use them effectively to meet the learners’ needs.
Graduates of this program can work in several areas and provide services to the community from these areas, including teaching professionally in secondary schools, which is considered as the primary work for them. Nonetheless, this program also enabling them with the ability to work in the field of scientific research of all kinds. They can also work in energy centers, as well as work in audio laboratories that are in some universities, and to participate in the field of scientific research such as writing scientific articles related to the scientific program, and working in radiology centers.
