The Tafsir (Quranic Exegesis) and Hadith (Prophetic Traditions) program is offered by the Department of Tafsir and Hadith, part of the College of Dawah and Fundamentals of Religion at Alasmarya Islamic University. Established in 2004 by a resolution of the General People's Committee (formerly), this program awards a Bachelor's degree in Tafsir and Hadith after completing eight academic semesters. The first semester consists of general courses for all college students, with the remaining semesters dedicated to specialization. The curriculum includes 66 courses (general, specialized, and pedagogical), totaling 142 credit hours. The program aims to train academically qualified individuals in the sciences of the Quran and the Prophetic traditions, along with related disciplines.

Program Objectives:
The program is designed to spread knowledge of the Quran and the purified Sunnah, regarded as the primary sources of Islamic jurisprudence and guidance in legislation, education, and moral refinement. Objectives include:

Equipping students with a strong academic foundation rooted in classical Islamic texts.
Protecting students from extremism, cultural distortions, and ideological deviations.
Providing pedagogical skills for teaching Islamic studies in secondary schools, religious institutions, and general education.
Enhancing research skills, including methods of deduction, inference, analysis, and objective critique.
Instilling ethical principles, respect for scholarly differences, justice, and fairness.
Enabling graduates to pursue postgraduate studies in their field of specialization.
Preparing students to deliver religious lessons and sermons in mosques.
Actively participating in cultural and educational programs and contributing to societal development.

Admission Requirements:
To earn a Bachelor's degree in Tafsir and Hadith, applicants must:

Hold a secondary school diploma (general or religious) or an equivalent qualification.
Complete the required coursework and submit a graduation thesis in their specialization, which must be approved by an evaluation committee.
Meet all additional criteria outlined in the university's internal regulations.
