The Master's Degree in Energy and Sustainability is an interdisciplinary programme, with a theoretical and methodological base in technical education, which aims to train students academically and/or professionally as specialists in sustainable energy in industry.

The energy sector is one of the most closely related to the problems associated with sustainable development: economic growth, energy consumption and environmental impact are closely related. It is therefore essential to achieve a balance between three aspects: how to grow more, with less energy consumption and how to produce, transform and consume energy while minimising environmental impact.

Given the enormous importance of the energy sector in economic development, the measures to be applied in the field of energy must be compatible with three fundamental principles: competitiveness, security of supply and environmental protection, seeking sustainable growth. To achieve this purpose it is necessary to train technicians who master the classic energy technologies and centres, together with the new renewable energies, the policies and means of energy efficiency and energy saving, environmental legislation, as well as having the ability to analyse the technical and economic viability of projects in the energy sector, these are the main objectives of this master's degree.
