The T&P Doctorate investigates how, throughout history, translation and interpretation have been fundamental practices in the construction of cultures and their capacity for change. Cultures are the result of a constant negotiation of translated texts, both linguistic and iconic or symbolic. People who translate are agents of cultural mediation with the capacity for social and political transformation. Today, we live in mixed realities, read translated languages, see adapted images and consume localized products that have been commissioned for translation and interpretation. The T&P Doctorate is the only doctoral program in translation and interpretation in the entire Galicia-Portugal Euroregion. It is a representative research postgraduate degree of the European Higher Education Area that responds to the demand for training from students of Translation and Interpretation, meeting the need to offer additional training to improve the prospects of their professional career. In this sense, we offer a balanced set of theoretical and practical content with a view to both research and the preparation of translation and interpretation professionals. The T&P Doctorate offers the most flexible blended learning model, as it can be completed entirely remotely or attend face-to-face sessions while carrying out fieldwork in the Human and Social Sciences. The T&P Doctorate responds to the theoretical and methodological transformation that the scientific area of Translation and Interpreting has experienced in the last decade, offering theoretical content from the different phases of description, study and analysis of current socio-professional realities in the digital age, which guarantees continuity between theory and practice.
