Traditional training in Mechanical Engineering is oriented towards the acquisition of expertise in solving specific problems in this branch and towards the training to adapt to the technological changes that will have to be faced during their professional life (which involves the ability to face the resolution of new problems). Thus, this training is based on fundamental knowledge of science and engineering such as Physics, Mathematics, Graphic Expression, Statistics and Chemistry. Additionally, specific training in Mechanics, Solid Mechanics, Structural Mechanics, Thermal Engineering and Fluid Mechanics lays the foundations for more technological subjects. In this way, multidisciplinary engineering bases can be incorporated that allow a global vision of all the aspects that intervene in the sectors of their competence, which is achieved by including modules from other branches of engineering in this degree.

The specific technological subjects guide the student so that he can intervene in the activities of his profession. These subjects also promote the relevance of considering aspects of process integration and rational use of energy in the phases of design, calculation, analysis, dimensioning, verification, use and maintenance of machines, processes, vehicles, structures, buildings and installations. Currently, in addition to experimental and metrological skills, the graduate in Mechanical Engineering must master, in a transversal way, the computing techniques that assist in their task in different ways and have become essential tools. This degree incorporates computer-assisted techniques in the different subjects where required.

Admission Requirements

If you want to start a degree, in addition to meeting the requirements set out in Royal Decree 534/2024  establishing the basic regulations for admission procedures to official university degree courses, you must apply for a place. Please note that there are degrees that have specific requirements or selection criteria and others that require you to prove a level of proficiency in English before completing the Final Degree Project.
