The Interuniversity Doctoral Program in Literary Studies provides advanced and specialized training, as well as research capacity in the field of literatures in Spanish, Galician and Portuguese languages, laying the foundations for the development of basic and applied research in this essential field of knowledge.. His scientific interest is common to research in other areas of the Humanities: the exploration and preservation and interpretation of collective sociocultural memory, together with training and research in theoretical and pragmatic aspects. This inter-university doctoral program supposes the finalization process, with the acquisition of the research competence, of the training process initiated with degrees and masters in which the studies of linguistics, language and literature, or other similar ones, in Spanish, Galician and/or Portuguese.

Admission Requirements
Access and admission
In general, the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Program (CAPD) will evaluate the applications submitted as follows:
- Bachelor's or degree academic transcript (50%).
- Curriculum vitae (30%).
- Explanatory report of the reasons of the candidate for an incorporation in this PD and outline of a thesis project (20%).
- It would be evaluated positively if the candidacy was endorsed by a PDIEL teacher, together with his / her commitment to tutor and / or direct the project in case the application was accepted.
The CAPD may conduct interviews with candidates to clarify and adequately weigh the alleged merits and motives.
The offer of PDIEL places per year is 12 places at UDC and 10 places at UVIGO.
