The Doctoral Program in Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in Engineering and Architecture develops the following lines of research:

  1. Energy efficiency, modeling of thermal, mechanical and renewable energy systems. It addresses issues such as the potential of renewable energies, biomass combustion modeling, biomass boiler design, simulation of combustion processes using CFD, etc.
  2. Investigation of thermodynamic properties of fluids of industrial interest using high-precision techniques. In this line, the new fluids that present a greater industrial interest are investigated, such as liquid, ionic and nanofluid electrolytes.
  3. Everything related to building, various aspects related to energy efficiency and the environment in buildings. The research activities in the scope of this line are: experimentation and modeling of heat transfer in building components, energy rehabilitation of buildings, methodological development of LCA applied to buildings, etc.
