In the Energy Efficiency, Thermal, Mechanical and Renewable Energy Systems Line, issues such as the potential of renewable energies, biomass combustion modeling, biomass boiler design, combustion process simulation using CFD, etc. are addressed. A second Line is the investigation of the thermodynamic properties of fluids of industrial interest using high-precision techniques. This Line investigates new fluids that are of greater industrial interest, such as liquid electrolytes, ionic electrolytes and nanofluids. The third line refers to the world of construction, and covers aspects related to energy efficiency and the environment in construction. The research activities in the scope of this Line are: experimentation and modeling of heat transfer in building components, energy rehabilitation of buildings, methodological development of LCA applied to construction, etc.
