The needs for masters level training of professionals in Industrial Mathematics highlighted by both the European Union and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in its document "Global Science Forum. Report on Mathematics in Industry", 2008.
The requirements of the European curriculum development project ECMIMIM (Erasmus - Curriculum Development project of the LifeLong Learning programme) approved and financed by the European Union, which involves the implementation of a master's degree on the subject referred to by each of the nine partners in the project, including the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
The scientific/technological interest of M2i rests on three pillars:
Expanding the analytical capacity and knowledge of students who will make up future research teams and professionals.
To provide concrete skills in the design, construction and management of software specific to at least one of the industrial sectors.
To introduce students to research and development topics related to the subjects that make up this programme.
