This Master's Degree in Occupational Risk Prevention is a professionally-oriented master's degree that provides students with the necessary accreditation to carry out higher functions in the field of occupational risk prevention within the speciality studied, due to the fact that its syllabus is designed in a coherent manner with the training programme that appears in Annex VI of RD 39/1997, on Occupational Risk Prevention Services, in accordance with the provisions of RD 337/2010. The preventive specialities and disciplines that the master's degree develops are those provided for in this Royal Decree: Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics and Safety at Work, except for Health Surveillance / Occupational Medicine (given that the specialists in this speciality must be doctors and take the speciality via MIR).

At the same time, the aim is to train students who can carry out the functions of health and safety coordinators as set out in Royal Decree 1627/97 (Regulation of construction works).

The programme of Occupational Risk Prevention presented is an interdisciplinary programme, with a theoretical and methodological basis in technical education, which aims at the academic and professional training of students as specialists in occupational risk prevention. Therefore, the Master's Degree in Occupational Risk Prevention is an official Master's Degree that has a transversal academic character, given that it trains prevention professionals with higher-level functions that they will carry out in companies in all areas, in accordance with current legislation. This training and the necessary professional accreditation can only be acquired through an official university master's degree such as the one proposed here.
