The Bachelor's Degreein Artificial Intelligence provides the broad, in-depth and multidisciplinary training required by professionals in this field, which is essential to successfully build the intelligent services and applications that are having such an important impact on our lives at all levels.

It is an interuniversity degree in the Galician University System, with four courses (240 ECTS). The subjects of the first two courses are common to the three universities (A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela and Vigo). In the third and fourth academic years, at the University of Vigo the orientation in Intelligent Information Systems is developed.

Intelligent Information Systems are the natural evolution of Information Systems, integrating techniques for processing large volumes of data through distributed computing systems, and using algorithms and strategies of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for a more efficient management and similar to human decision processes.

Intelligent Information Systems generate and incorporate capabilities that allow them to exhibit flexible and creative behaviour, cooperating with both users and other systems in the retrieval, processing and generation of data and for problem solving.

The Intelligent Information Systems mention of the Bachelor's Degree in Artificial Intelligence is aimed at students interested in acquiring a professional profile that enables them to automatically and securely exploit information flows, whatever their format, type, size and complexity. The aim is to meet the requirements of all kinds of entities at this level, both in the field of management and decision-making, by designing solutions focused on the application and integration of AI strategies. It is therefore not only a matter of locating existing data for immediate processing in a purely transformational strategy, but fundamentally of deriving new information that provides a significant competitive advantage in the application domain.

In this mention, future graduates will acquire a profile that will enable them to design, develop and apply techniques and technologies based on automatic learning and reasoning, Big Data, natural language processing, and real-time interaction and perception for the development of SII.

In short, the training received will enable the student to face the new challenges posed by the Information Society in which strategic, tactical and operational decision support is a challenge. They will have the opportunity to learn about and exploit some of the newest and most promising fields in AI, such as massive data processing, language industries, IoT, behavioural systems and cybersecurity.
