At present, with the rapid evolution of engineering and applied sciences, there is a clear need to train specialists in modeling and numerical simulation of processes that come from the industrial or business field, so that, in these fields, The University promotes the transfer of knowledge and the incorporation of doctors into R&D&i departments, with training aimed at optimizing processes, reducing costs, improving product quality, designing new technologies, increasing safety, reduce environmental pollution, etc. This Doctoral Program in Mathematical Methods and Numerical Simulation in Engineering and Applied Sciences program aims to cover those needs. The relevance of the lines of research on which the program focuses is evident in the scientific productivity of the responsible research groups, which can be assessed, for example, in terms of six-year research periods, supervised theses and publications in JCR journals.

Admission criteria

At the time of applying for admission, the student must submit a thesis draft endorsed by a doctor who meets the requirements to be a director. To this end, applicants will be given facilities to contact the professors of the program. This thesis draft will be analyzed by the program's Academic Committee, which must give its approval for admission based on this analysis and the student's curriculum vitae, keeping in mind in all cases their academic record.

Students who meet the access requirements may apply for admission to the Doctoral Program, for which a pre-registration period will be established. Said request will be presented in accordance with the procedure indicated in the call.

At the end of this period, the CAPD will publish the provisional list of admitted students, with their corresponding waiting list, in accordance with the established selection criteria.
