The Degree in Mining and Energy Resources Engineering aims to provide the training and skills necessary for the exercise of the regulated profession of technical mining engineering. Three technologies are offered: "Energy Resources, Fuels and Explosives", "Mine Exploitation" and "Mineral and Metallurgy".

The degree focuses on training in research and exploitation of mining resources (rocks and mines, underground spaces, water...). In addition, it provides the necessary training in the area corresponding to the transformation and use of these resources in industry: production and use of metallic materials, oils, polymers and composites.

The future professional must carry out all these activities in a safe, profitable and environmentally compatible way, which justifies that the study plan includes transversal subjects of economy and business, safety and risk prevention and environment.

Professional outcomes:

  • Resource management and environmental protection.
  • Generation, transformation and transport of energy: thermal and hydraulic power plants, combined cycles, nuclear power plants, wind energy, solar energy, geothermal energy and other energies.
  • Explosives, demolition and civil works, extraction of raw materials, treatment plants, recycling.
  • Metallurgy, traditional materials (oils, metals, construction materials) and new materials.
  • Exploitation, prospecting and exploitation of geological and mining resources: fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas), mines, rocks, water, underground spaces.
