The Interuniversity Doctoral Program in Cultural Heritage Protection of the Universities of Vigo, Santiago de Compostela and A Coruña aims to generate an interprofessional meeting space between the different agents involved in heritage protection in their different perspectives: documentation and assessment, characterization of materials and the environment that surrounds it, mechanisms of deterioration and diagnosis and finally direct or indirect intervention on the heritage in order to protect it. Graduates will be able to acquire the ability to address, from a scientific point of view, new research challenges in the Protection of Cultural Heritage, as well as the acquisition of rigorous and deep scientific knowledge on some aspect related to the Protection of the Cultural Heritage.

Admission criteria

The quantitative scales applied for the assessment of applications for admission and enrollment in the Doctoral Program in Cultural Heritage Protection by UVigo, USC and UDC in the 2019-2020 academic year will be as follows:

1. Letters of guarantee (up to 50 points)

  • Letter of endorsement from the director, with express commitment to assume the direction of the thesis: 50 points
  • Letter of endorsement from a person of prestige in the professional or academic field in the sector: 1 point per letter (maximum 5 points)

2. Academic transcript of the degrees that give access (up to 30 points)

  • Outstanding / MH (grade ≥ 9): 30 points
  • Notable (7 ≤ note <9): 20 points
  • Passed (5

If there are two degrees (degree and master's degree), it is averaged. The DEA grade does not count. If no transcript is submitted, it will be valued at 0 points.
