Admission Requirements

Access and admission

In addition to the general requirements for access to master's studies, the additional admission requirement is that all students must demonstrate a B1 level of English or equivalent to be admitted to the Master's in Industrial Engineering at the University of Vigo.

Admission criteria

Applications for admission will be classified into three groups:

  • Group 1: graduates in the Degree in Industrial Technology Engineering from the School of Industrial Engineering of Vigo.
  • Group 2: graduates in the remaining degrees of the School of Industrial Engineering of Vigo.
  • Group 3: Other graduates with qualifications with profiles permitted by Order CIN/311/2009 to access the master's degree, with the corresponding training supplements in each case.

Within each group, the students will be sorted according to the following formula:

Student's average grade/grade point average of their degree

The places will be allocated according to this order and with the following reservations:

  • 50% of the places will be allocated to applications from group 1. If there are any vacant places, they will be allocated to applications from group 2. If there are any vacant places, they will be allocated to applications from group 3.
  • 45% of the places will be allocated to applications from group 2. If there are any vacant places, they will be allocated to applications from group 1. If there are still any vacant places, they will be allocated to applications from group 3.
  • 5% of the places will be allocated to applications from group 3 together with the remaining applications from groups 1 and 2 that did not obtain a place in the previous quotas.

To establish training complements for students in group 3, their previous qualification will be taken into account and their academic record will be compared with the training included in the Degree in Industrial Technology Engineering of the School of Industrial Engineering of the University of Vigo (BOE of 11 February 2013). These training complements will not form part of the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering and will consist of subjects taught in one of the qualifications offered by the School of Industrial Engineering.
