The Degree in Social Work will train students to work as social workers, intervening in situations of conflict in different social spheres of individuals, participating in the formulation and planning of social policies, services and initiatives and in the prevention of problems and conflicts between people and/or groups.
Professional activities:
- Assistance: attention to the demands of individuals or groups related to social needs; orientation, information and advice on social rights and resources of society; organisation and management of social services; support and advice services to the population in general and specific groups.
- Prevention, promotion of situations of social injustice that prevent the appearance of social problems and deficiencies and that promote human rights.
- Social incorporation: in any population in a situation of vulnerability or social exclusion.
- Teaching and social research: in relation to social problems that are the object of intervention; analysis and intervention in the social sphere (nature, dimension and priorities, problems and deficiencies, strengths, etc.); research and analysis of the conditioning factors of social welfare.
- Mediation: family, social, community mediation.
- Management, direction of services, social programmes and human resources.
- Planning, evaluation of programmes and services.
- Coordination with other professionals, administrations and resources.
