The main objective of the Master's Degree in Computer Engineering of the Universidade de Vigo is to prepare highly qualified professionals, capable of planning, designing, directing, coordinating and managing projects, products, processes and installations in all areas of Computer Engineering.

The Master's Degree in Computer Engineering is aimed at students interested in receiving advanced training in the field of Computer Engineering, in order to develop a professional career in this sector. Specifically, it is aimed especially at students who have graduated from the Degree in Computer Engineering or degrees with other denominations, linked to the exercise of the profession of technical engineer in computer science, and whose skills comply with the provisions of section 5 of Annex II of the Resolution of 8 June 2009 (BOE 4-August-2009), of the General Secretariat of Universities. Therefore, the ideal income profile is defined by the competencies associated with any technical computer engineer.

Regarding personal characteristics, it is advisable that the student:

  • Have the capacity for autonomous learning, interest in updating knowledge, and recognize their need in the professional practice of computer science.
  • Know how to work in situations of information scarcity and under pressure, having the capacity for innovation, creativity and the generation of new ideas.
  • Has the ability to work collaboratively, team-building, organizing, planning, making decisions, negotiating and resolving conflicts, relating, and criticizing and self-criticism.
  • Have initiative and entrepreneurship, as well as ability for leadership, direction, team and project management.
  • Be a good communicator, both orally and in writing.
