Physical activity, in its sporting, educational and health dimensions, has achieved a prominent presence in 21st century society. The increase and improvement of sports equipment and facilities in recent years has been accompanied by greater public and private budgets for sports management, increasing employment figures in the sector, both in the exercise of teaching tasks, in the development of sports performance, and in sports management. The reasons that justify research in this area are: · The growing degree of sedentary lifestyle that is contributing to an increase in the prevalence of chronic pathologies and a decrease in the quality of life in the population, with physical activity constituting one of the main measures to alleviate these adverse effects. · The constant need to update the use of physical and sporting activity as an educational and healthy leisure tool. · The extension and social importance of competitive sport make it necessary to have greater knowledge of its background, its socio-economic aspects and its repercussions on the body. Therefore, this doctoral program aims to provide training and specialization in research techniques related to Sport, Physical Education and Healthy Physical Exercise. This Doctoral Program is carried out jointly by the University of A Coruña - Faculty of Sports Sciences and Physical Education and the University of Vigo - Faculty of Education and Sports Sciences.
