This program seeks to integrate two initially disparate and unrelated areas of work, such as nanomaterials and Biomedicine. The science of nanomaterials has traditionally been part of Physical Chemistry, however, in recent years and mainly due to the diverse applications it presents, its importance in the field of biomedicine has been determined, since this branch allows the generation and development of new applications, being one of the research areas of the CINBIO Research Center. Thanks to this program, a multidisciplinary vision is presented, with a collaborative environment where different lines and areas of research have room.

This doctoral program replaces the one currently taught at the Faculty of Chemistry, Doctoral Program in Science and Technology of Colloids and Interfaces by the University of Vigo, which has just received the favorable report of Renewal of Accreditation (2020/2021). This program was already a continuation of the one taught under the same name until 2013 and which obtained the Mention of Excellence in the 2010/2011 academic year, which, in turn, was a continuation of the one taught until the 2008/2009 academic year, which had obtained the Mention of Quality from the MEC in the 2003/2004 academic year.
