The Doctoral Program in Agro-Food Science and Technology, with a Mention for Excellence from the Ministry of Education in its last call, aims to train Doctors who develop their R&D&I activity in the various links of the food chain, from the primary production of raw materials to the latest advances in processing or biotechnology, including food quality and safety, guaranteeing a comprehensive and multidisciplinary training that allows graduates to develop and implement new technology in the agri-food sector, as well as the development of new products and/or the valorization of those currently existing on the market. At the end of the training period, the graduate will be able to lead and collaborate in R&D&I activities with excellent scientific preparation and professional maturity, both in the industrial sector and in the field of research. For all this, the Doctoral Program in Agro-Food Science and Technology aims to graduate Doctors who lead R&D&I activities and projects in the scientific-professional food sector:

• Research and development of new processes and strategies in the production, preparation and conservation of food. • Research and development of new strategies and procedures that guarantee food quality and safety. • Research and development in the food-health binomial.

Admission Requirements

Admission criteria

The recommended entry profile in the Doctoral Program in Agri-Food Science and Technology is that of people who wish to complete their doctoral thesis in the field of experimental sciences related to agri-food technology.

No specific admission requirements are set. Preference will be given to:

  • PhD students from the official Master's degree in Agri-Food Science and Technology.
  • Students from other Masters in the Experimental Sciences Branch that the Academic Committee considers to have similar contents.
  • In both cases, the selection will be based on the average grade of your academic record.
  • In the event of a tie, personal interviews will be conducted.

Admission of students to the doctoral program will be carried out by the academic committee.
