The University Master's Degree in Translation for International Communication (MCTI) of the University of Vigo is a reference in the specialized training of translators and interpreters in the national and international arena. Its recognition is guaranteed by its inclusion in the 2024-2029 list of the European Master's in Translation (EMT) of the European Union and is the only Galician master's degree and one of the eight Spanish programs that are part of this prestigious network of excellence. It is also the only master's degree in the field of humanities and social sciences that has received the mention of excellence granted by the Government. These distinctions certify the high academic quality of the program, its research capacity and its close link with the professional field.
In its commitment to internationalization, from the academic year 2024/2025 the MCTI maintains a double degree agreement with the Università degli Studi di Palermo. Thanks to this agreement, the selected students can complete, with an Erasmus scholarship, part of their studies in both institutions and simultaneously obtain the Master's degree in translation for international communication from the University of Vigo and the Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Lingue Moderne e Traduzione per le Relazioni Internazionali diploma from the Italian university.
Through training that combines theoretical foundations, professional practice and research, the MCTI prepares specialists capable of developing in multilingual and multicultural contexts, responding to the demands of an increasingly globalized and technologically advanced labor market.

Candidates must demonstrate previous knowledge or a justified interest in specializing in translation and interpretation. The academic committee may conduct a personal interview. The assessment will be made according to the following criteria:

- Possess another official master's degree: 2 points.
- Possess a second university degree: 1 point.
- Scientific publications related to translation: up to 2 points.
- Published translations: up to 1 point.
- Teaching experience: up to 1 point.
- Outreach or organizational activities related to translation and interpretation: up to 1 point.
- Professional experience in translation and interpreting: up to 2 points.

Candidates must demonstrate previous knowledge or a justified interest in specializing in translation and interpretation. The academic committee may conduct a personal interview. The assessment will be made according to the following criteria:
- Average grade of the academic record: up to 2.5 points.
- Personal interview: up to 2.5 points.
- Letter of motivation justifying interest in translation and interpretation: up to 2.5 points.
- Other merits: up to 2.5 points, including another master's degree, a second university degree, scientific publications, published translations, teaching experience, outreach activities or professional experience related to translation and interpretation.
