About the program and its main topics


The Master's Program in Educational Psychology / Measurement and Evaluation was established with the establishment of the Department of Educational Psychology in the academic year 1987/1988, and the study plan of the program consists of (33) credit hours for each of the thesis tracks and the comprehensive exam, and the compulsory and elective study subjects of the program are distributed in three areas of knowledge as follows: First: Psychological and Educational Measurement and Evaluation, and it includes the following subjects: Theory in the Development of Tests, Measurement of Values, Tendencies, and Attitudes, Classroom Evaluation, Child Development Evaluation, Personality Measurement, and Individual Assessment Methods. Second:  Research Methods and Statistical Methods, which includes the following subjects: Research Design and Methods, Analytical Statistics, and Computer Applications in Data Analysis. Third: Educational Psychology (Development, Learning, Childhood) and includes the following subjects: developmental theories and their applications, educational psychology, theories of learning and teaching, childhood psychology, and teaching thinking.

A program distinguished locally, regionally and internationally in psychological measurement and evaluation and contributes effectively to the development of knowledge and its applications to serve the community and the world.

 

Program Mission


Preparing human cadres is a scientifically empowered researcher initiative that is practically skilled in psychological and educational measurement and evaluation, and capable of competing in the local, regional and international labor market in the field of leading evaluative work, providing tests, measurements, diagnostics, writing evaluation reports, and providing specialized research, training and consulting services to various community institutions and individuals in a way that helps to face challenges, solve psychological and educational problems, and achieve community service and keep pace with cognitive development.

 

 Program Objectives


1. Qualifying learners and empowering them with knowledge and skills and keeping pace with scientific and technological development in psychological and educational measurement and evaluation.


2. Developing research and investigation skills for original topics and issues in measurement and evaluation that contribute to scientific progress and proposing solutions to theoretical and practical issues and problems.


3. Qualifying students to build, experiment and build standards for psychological and educational measurement and evaluation tools, codify foreign psychological and educational measurement and evaluation tools for the Jordanian environment, select, apply, interpret and write reports on the appropriate psychological and educational measurement and evaluation tools.​

This plan is in accordance with the instructions of the graduate programs in force at the University of Jordan.
Majors that can be accepted:
First Priority: Master of Educational Psychology or any of its fields (measurement and evaluation, growth, learning and teaching).
Second Priority: Master's in Psychology, Counseling, or Special Education.
Third Priority: Master's degree in any branch of psychology or education.
Admission Policies:
- The third admission policy will be adopted.

As for success and failure, the instructions and policy of the university in force in this regard will be applied
