Background to the program and subject area:


The Department curriculum provides a great opportunity for local and international students to specialize in computer engineering. Computer Engineering students would graduate with excellent knowledge in computers. Both teaching and research activities in computers would benefit to a great extent with the availability of state-of-the-art equipment. Modern technologies require the use of computers in various forms. Graduate students specialized in computer engineering would provide the necessary human resources to satisfy the local and international demands.

 

Vision statements of the program:


To become a nationally and regionally leading computer engineering department recognized for its outstanding computer engineering education, research for the advancement of computer engineering knowledge and profession and partnership with local industry.

 

Mission statements of the program:


To produce graduates of computer engineering capable of designing and developing computing-based systems using the hardware skills of a computer engineer and the software skills of a computer scientist, and engaging in applied and basic research to explore and apply new knowledge for the welfare of society that contribute to the development of the information technology and computer engineering in Jordan.

 

Program Aims:


 PEO1. The graduates of the computer engineering program have successful professional careers as hardware, software, and/or network engineers.


PEO2. The graduates of the computer engineering program have engaged in multidisciplinary environments and conducted their duties professionally and ethically.


PEO3. The graduates of computer engineering program have grown and enhanced their knowledge, skills and profession by pursuing further academic degrees and/or obtaining professional certification.

Admission Requirements

The general admission condition is a Jordanian secondary education certificate with an average grade of 80% or above.

Required documents:

To start the admission process, you first need:   ​
1.  A copy of the passport.

2.  For international students who hold a Jordanian high school certificate (i.e. Tawjehi), you need to provide your Transcript certified from the Jordanian Ministry of Education. 2.1 For International students with a Saudi certificate, you need to get an equivalency from the Ministry of Education in Jordan ( after 2016).

2.2 For international students holding Arabic certificates, you need to have your certificate certified by the Ministry of Education in Jordan.

3.2. For international students holding an international certificate from Jordan (e.g. I.B., SAT, I.G.C.E​, etc.​.), you need to start the equivalency process at the Jordanian Ministry of education (https://apps.moe.gov.jo/apps/certificate/).

4.2. For international students holding an international certificate (e.g. I.B., SAT, I.G.C.E., etc.​.),​​ from Arab countries,  you need to start the equivalency process at the Jordanian  Ministry of education (https://apps.moe.gov.jo/apps/certificate/) or at the Ministry of education in your country showing the average and the branch.

5.2.  For international students holding an international certificate (e.g. I.B., SAT, I.G.C.E., etc..), from non-Arab countries, you need to start the equivalency process at the Jordanian Ministry of education​ (https://apps.moe.gov.jo/apps/certificate/).

(Important note: If a student is unable to provide the university with the equivalency of the certificate before arriving to Jordan, they can do this process during the first semester).
