The Chemical Engineering Department was established in 1978. The Department has established itself as the primary supplier of B.S. chemical engineers in Jordan. The Chemical Engineering B.Sc. programs accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET,https://www.abet.org, the recognized U.S. accreditor of college and university programs in applied science, computing , engineering, and technology.

Furthermore; the department launched the master degree program by1986 which made the department a research force to be reckoned in Jordan. The Department offices are located in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the University of Jordan. The Department of Chemical Engineering at University of Jordan prides itself on preparing its students for creative careers in industry, academia, and government. The department is a community of outstanding researchers, experienced educators, distinguished engineers, and talented students.
