About the program and its main topics


The Master of Library and Information Science program is an educational, training and research program that aims to provide advanced knowledge and skills in the field to contribute to providing human resources at a high level of knowledge and applied skills in the fields of information science such as organizing information and its sources and managing information resources and services systems, in addition to the knowledge necessary to employ information and communication technology to provide information and knowledge services at an advanced level to serve the changing needs of information users in Jordan and the entire Arab world. To form a knowledge, educational, and research environment that promotes the principles and values of initiative, participation, transparency, creativity, respect for the values of work and time, and keep pace with the rapid developments in the meaning of information in line with the mission of the college and the university. The program provides advanced and specialized in the fields of organizing information sources and the technical processes necessary to organize them, such as objective analysis and advanced classification, as well as special topics in the field of scientific research and its procedures. In addition, the program offers advanced topics related to information and communication technology such as building and managing databases, information storage and retrieval systems, information networks, and other important technological topics in the fields and applications of libraries and information centers.

The vision of the program is in line with the vision of the department, the college and the university to classify the department globally as a distinguished department in information science that works to root the culture of excellence, leadership, creativity and research among its students.

Please note that applicants who have graduated from an English-speaking country are exempt from the English exam requirement.

Required Documents:

After checking your eligibility for the program, your electronic application at the next step must include the following documents compiled into a single PDF file (with a size of less than 6 MB):


1.  A copy of the General Secondary Certificate (high school or Tawjihi).

2.  A copy of the bachelor's degree certificate is required for master's students. For doctoral students, a copy of the master's degree certificate with a rating of at least 'Good' is required.

3.  Transcripts for all academic years of the bachelor's degree for master's students, and transcripts for all academic years of both the bachelor's and master's degree for doctoral students.

4. The grading system used by the student's university (for graduates of non-Jordanian universities).

5. A personal photograph.

6.  A copy of the passport.
