An overview of the program and its main subjects:


The department has developed a new program, Judiciary and Sharia Policy, to keep pace with the new developments of the era from the legal and social aspects, as the specialization consists of topics such as fatwa, judiciary, education, leading prayer, and Sharia policy.



Program vision:


Providing society with a generation qualified in terms of practical jurisprudence and Islamic Judiciary, promoting the development of the student's jurisprudential capacities, and providing the labor market with trained jurisprudential staff in the fields of leading prayers, preaching, fatwa, media, and education.​



Program mission:


Qualifying students of Islamic Judiciary and Legislative Policy who are able to provide the community in the legal fields and guide it towards values and virtues.



Program goals:


  1. Teaching Islamic Studies in a way that combines belonging to the roots and keeping pace to the era and is consistent with the higher objectives of Sharia.
  2. Seeking to improve educational performance in Islamic Studies.
  3. Calling to Islam by elucidating its principles, demonstrating its truths, and refuting the doubts directed against it.
  4. Serving the local, Arab and Islamic community by preparing qualified staff capable of carrying the noble message of Islam with honesty and sincerity.
  5. Connecting the Ummah's present with its heritage and Islamic civilization.
  6. Developing virtuous values and good morals by following the Islamic approach in thought, word and deed.
  7. Preparing a qualified Muslim capable of achieving reform, facing challenges and obstacles, and fulfilling the duty of calling to Allah Almighty.
  8. Qualifying a generation of teachers who are capable of understanding the higher objectives of Sharia and following authentic educational curricula and instilling them in the souls of students.
  9. Providing the Supreme Judge Department with qualified staff to work in the Sharia courts and the Sharia judiciary.
  10. Qualifying a generation of speakers and preachers capable of delivering the message of Islam, explaining its principles, clarifying its concepts and explaining its rulings.
  11. Preserving the Islamic identity of the nation and defending its culture.

Students are admitted to the program after they pass the higher secondary exam (Tawjihi) held by the Ministry of Education and according to the grade requirements set by the Higher Education Council/ Unified Acceptance Coordination Unit, and this is in accordance with the Bylaws and Regulations of the University of Jordan in regular and international courses of study

Required Scores of English Language Tests

Please note that applicants who have graduated from an English-speaking country are exempt from the English exam requirement.

Required Documents:

After checking your eligibility for the program, your electronic application at the next step must include the following documents compiled into a single PDF file (with a size of less than 6 MB):


1.  A copy of the General Secondary Certificate (high school or Tawjihi).

2.  A copy of the bachelor's degree certificate is required for master's students. For doctoral students, a copy of the master's degree certificate with a rating of at least 'Good' is required.

3.  Transcripts for all academic years of the bachelor's degree for master's students, and transcripts for all academic years of both the bachelor's and master's degree for doctoral students.

4. The grading system used by the student's university (for graduates of non-Jordanian universities).

5. A personal photograph.

6.  A copy of the passport.
