About the program and its main topics


The PhD program in Educational Technology is the only program in Jordanian universities. The program covers new trends in the field of educational technology, including educational technology and e-learning, open learning, teaching design in e-learning environments, and educational technology for people with special needs, among other topics.

To achieve global leadership in the field of educational technology by preparing a generation of technologically distinguished qualified educators to raise the level of education and instill a culture of excellence.

 

Program Mission


Preparing qualified educational cadres to work in the various fields of teaching that possess the ethics, knowledge, skills and educational and research competencies necessary to carry the Secretariat of Education competently and efficiently and keep pace with the developments and rapid developments in the field of educational technology, curricula and teaching in line with the mission of the college and the university and serve the needs of educational institutions at the local Jordanian and Arab levels.

 

Program Objectives


1. Providing students with a high level of teaching skills and methods in education in general and educational technology in particular.


2. Providing students with information and skills related to the topic of distance learning that addresses the academic and professional needs of students and the community.


3. Providing the appropriate environment for students to develop educational competencies and strategies that will help them in their future career and long-term theoretical and practical life.


4. Developing creative and critical thinking skills in addition to the appropriate communication skills of students.


5. Preparing and qualifying students for scientific research to work as researchers or to provide them with practical experiences to work in local and regional educational institutions.


6. Working to help students build and develop technological knowledge and interest in the teaching profession.


7. Provide students with knowledge and practical experiences in the field of educational technology in order to provide them with the opportunity to work independently and use and employ different learning strategies.​

First: General Terms and Conditions:

The plan is in accordance with the instructions of the graduate programs in force at the University of Jordan.
Majors that can be accepted:
- First priority: graduates of the Master's Degree in Curriculum and Teaching/Instructional Technology.

- Second Priority: Graduates of the Master's Degree in the College of Educational Sciences in all its other specializations.

- Third Priority: Master's degree graduates from any field of knowledge.

Required Scores of English Language Tests

Please note that applicants who have graduated from an English-speaking country are exempt from the English exam requirement.
