The MA  program in Music focuses on refining and developing students' skills in various musical arts disciplines. The program plan has been recently improved to incorporate new specialties that meet the needs of the growing music industry.


The program specialties are as follows:


1- Performance


2- Composition and Conducting


3- Music Education


4- Arab/Western singing


5- Art Management

 

While each specialty entails specific courses, all specialties share department requirement courses which establish basic musical knowledge in music theory, history, reading and others.


Vision:


The department contributes to the reinforcing the role of Arts, and particularly music, in society, as art is essential for fulfilling an individual's cultural, social, or economic needs. The department also fosters creativity as a necessary constituent of the arts and artistic professions.



Mission:


The department aims to educate students in achieving a high degree of proficiency in music as a profession and as a discipline. The department also seeks to motivate and refine students' innovation skills, which is consistent with the advanced qualifications of faculty members in the department, as well as the financial resources provided by the university including musical instruments, recording devices, and others. The department also seeks to elevate the status of the Arts in the community through the continuous participation in local and international events.

Required Documents:


After checking your eligibility for the program, your electronic application at the next step must include the following documents compiled into a single PDF file (with a size of less than 6 MB):


1.  A copy of the General Secondary Certificate (high school or Tawjihi).


2.  A copy of the bachelor's degree certificate is required for master's students. For doctoral students, a copy of the master's degree certificate with a rating of at least 'Good' is required.


3.  Transcripts for all academic years of the bachelor's degree for master's students, and transcripts for all academic years of both the bachelor's and master's degree for doctoral students.


4. The grading system used by the student's university (for graduates of non-Jordanian universities).


5. A personal photograph.


6.  A copy of the passport.
