Background to the program and subject area:
The Masters in Political Science program is one of the programs that provide students with methodological skills for studying and analysing Political Science. By focusing on new models, theories and methodologies, the program seeks to create a new generation of scientists capable of applying these practices to contemporary political issues. The program also helps students to engage in a wide range of internal and external topics and variables. Students learn about local, regional and international politics, comparative politics, international relations, political theory.
Vision statements of the program:
The program of Political Science is one of the leading departments in the University of Jordan. The Department of Political Science teaches students how to deal with scientific topics such as political theory, comparative political systems, international relations, foreign policy, international politics, the theories of political development and is also interested in regional political studies such as Arab political systems. It also focuses on the political development of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Furthermore, it concentrates on contemporary international political problems from their political, economic and social aspects.

To develop the curricula according to the latest recognized standards locally, regionally and internationally. The department also works in cooperation with the College administration to make the specialization in Political Science contribute to the service and fulfilment of the requirements of the labor market, represented by various governmental institutions, NGOs, international organizations and companies in the Jordanian and Arab markets.
The program of Political Science also plays an important role in serving the community through research and specialized studies organized by the Department. These include various political issues at the local, regional and international levels.
Program Aims:
1. Meeting the need to prepare graduates who are academically qualified and have in-depth knowledge in the political field to support institutions, ministries and government departments relevant to the political sphere.
2. Contributing to the achievement of the mission of the University of Jordan to achieve international achievement and excellence at the international level.
3. The specialization of Political Science is a center for attracting Jordanian, Arab and foreign students, thus providing financial support to the university.
4. Working on field training for students of Political Science in ministries and institutions, which leads to the refinement of their personality and their involvement in political issues before the end of their school years
5. Working to raise political awareness among graduates of the department and work with informed political expertise.
6. Providing the Ministry of Education with the qualified staff to work on the incorporation of the principles of science into politics so that they can be taught in school curricula.
7. Developing students' research and creative abilities, such as courses related to political, economic and social problems in different regions of the world, and using faculty courses from other faculties related to Political Sciences such as Public Administration, Public International Law and others.
8. Establishing relations with Political Science departments at sisterly universities in order to create academic cooperation, which is reflected positively on the teaching and research process of faculty members and students alike.
9. The Department of Political Science also plays an important role in serving the community through research and specialized studies organized by the Department. These include various political issues at the local, regional and international levels.

Admission Requirements
The fields of specialty, which could be, accepted in the Human Rights and Human Development Master programme are:
A. Bachelor in any field of knowledge

Please note that applicants who have graduated from an English-speaking country are exempt from the English exam requirement.

Required Documents:
After checking your eligibility for the program, your electronic application at the next step must include the following documents compiled into a single PDF file (with a size of less than 6 MB):
1. A copy of the General Secondary Certificate (high school or Tawjihi).
2. A copy of the bachelor's degree certificate is required for master's students. For doctoral students, a copy of the master's degree certificate with a rating of at least 'Good' is required.
3. Transcripts for all academic years of the bachelor's degree for master's students, and transcripts for all academic years of both the bachelor's and master's degree for doctoral students.
4. The grading system used by the student's university (for graduates of non-Jordanian universities).
5. A personal photograph.
6. A copy of the passport.
