About the program and its main topics
The Bachelor Program in Counseling and Mental Health was established with the establishment of the Faculty of Educational Sciences in the academic year 1972/1973, and the study plan of the program consists of 132 credit hours divided into (27) university requirements, (27) college requirements, and (78) specialization requirements, and the study subjects are distributed between compulsory and elective requirements and (12) hours of field training that fall under the compulsory specialization subjects, and the basic topics of the program are based on: The basics and principles of psychological and educational counseling, as well as the principles of psychological and educational measurement, as well as dealing with students' problems, methods of addressing them, and methods of communication in counseling. This program explains in the courses offered through it the types of counseling: such as preventive counseling, school counseling, and rehabilitative counseling, as well as psychological stress courses and expressive activities in counseling, and at the end of the specialization subjects, the student is expected to complete field training in counseling in the final semester of graduation.

A high-level program that is respected for its pioneering role in preparing scientifically renowned mentors and teachers in Jordan and the Arab region.

The program provides knowledge, information, and educational and training resources that are commensurate with the needs of the local and Arab community by providing students with advanced knowledge in the field of counseling and mental health to be able to understand and interpret the psychological life of human beings and how behavior is formed, and provide them with basic knowledge related to counseling methods and strategies and competencies necessary to apply them in the field.

1. Providing the student with basic knowledge in the field of psychological and educational counseling to be able to understand and interpret the psychological life of a person and how behavior is formed.
2. Providing the student with basic knowledge related to counseling and therapeutic methods and strategies and their theoretical foundations.
3. Providing the student with the skills and competencies necessary to implement the counseling process and apply it in the field.
4. Providing the student with logical thinking skills by training him to analyze and interpret human behavior.
5. Providing the student with the adequacy of employing guiding concepts to suit the cultural reality of the community.
6. Preparing competitive graduates in the local and regional labor market.
7. Prepare counselors who are able to solve psychological and behavioral problems and have the ability for continuous professional growth.

Admission Requirements
To enroll at the University of Jordan, you need to meet the minimum required GPA for the General Secondary Education Certificate; The required GPA is 55 %

To start the admission process, you first need:
1. A copy of the passport.
2. For international students who hold a Jordanian high school certificate (i.e. Tawjehi), you need to provide your Transcript certified from the Jordanian Ministry of Education. 2.1 For International students with a Saudi certificate, you need to get an equivalency from the Ministry of Education in Jordan ( after 2016).
2.2 For international students holding Arabic certificates, you need to have your certificate certified by the Ministry of Education in Jordan.
3.2. For international students holding an international certificate from Jordan (e.g. I.B., SAT, I.G.C.E, etc..), you need to start the equivalency process at the Jordanian Ministry of education (https://apps.moe.gov.jo/apps/certificate/).
4.2. For international students holding an international certificate (e.g. I.B., SAT, I.G.C.E., etc..), from Arab countries, you need to start the equivalency process at the Jordanian Ministry of education (https://apps.moe.gov.jo/apps/certificate/) or at the Ministry of education in your country showing the average and the branch.
5.2. For international students holding an international certificate (e.g. I.B., SAT, I.G.C.E., etc..), from non-Arab countries, you need to start the equivalency process at the Jordanian Ministry of education (https://apps.moe.gov.jo/apps/certificate/).
(Important note: If a student is unable to provide the university with the equivalency of the certificate before arriving to Jordan, they can do this process during the first semester).
