Artificial Intelligence is becoming an essential part in everyday technologies and it will revolutionize the way we live and work in the years to come. AI is concerned with giving computers human-like abilities such as sight, learning, conversation and creativity.


The Artificial intelligence program offers courses which include machine learning, knowledge representation and reasoning, autonomous agents and multi-agent systems, human-machine interactions and collectives, cognition and human modelling, data science, robotics, augmented reality, graphics, computer vision and imaging, audio-visual signal processing, natural language processing and affective computing.


AI is a popular program to enrol because there is a growing jobs market for AI.

  1. Analyze complex problems in artificial intelligence by applying principles of computing, mathematics, and relevant AI disciplines to identify effective solutions.
  2. Design, implement, and evaluate AI-based solutions that meet specified requirements and address real-world challenges, using appropriate algorithms and models.
  3. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences about AI concepts, system designs, results, and ethical implications.
  4. Recognize professional responsibilities and ethical considerations in the development and application of AI systems, including fairness, accountability, transparency, and privacy.
  5. Function effectively as a member or leader of a multidisciplinary team engaged in AI projects, demonstrating collaboration, leadership, and project management skills.
  6. Apply foundational computer science theory and AI fundamentals — including machine learning, data representation, reasoning, and search techniques — to develop computing-based solutions.

Admission Requirements

Entrance Requirements:  
According to UJ regulations

To enroll at the University of Jordan, you need to meet the minimum required GPA for the General Secondary Education Certificate; The required GPA is 55 %

Required documents:

To start the admission process, you first need:   ​
1.  A copy of the passport.

2.  For international students who hold a Jordanian high school certificate (i.e. Tawjehi), you need to provide your Transcript certified from the Jordanian Ministry of Education. 2.1 For International students with a Saudi certificate, you need to get an equivalency from the Ministry of Education in Jordan ( after 2016).

2.2 For international students holding Arabic certificates, you need to have your certificate certified by the Ministry of Education in Jordan.

3.2. For international students holding an international certificate from Jordan (e.g. I.B., SAT, I.G.C.E​, etc.​.), you need to start the equivalency process at the Jordanian Ministry of education (https://apps.moe.gov.jo/apps/certificate/).

4.2. For international students holding an international certificate (e.g. I.B., SAT, I.G.C.E., etc.​.),​​ from Arab countries,  you need to start the equivalency process at the Jordanian  Ministry of education (https://apps.moe.gov.jo/apps/certificate/) or at the Ministry of education in your country showing the average and the branch.

5.2.  For international students holding an international certificate (e.g. I.B., SAT, I.G.C.E., etc..), from non-Arab countries, you need to start the equivalency process at the Jordanian Ministry of education​ (https://apps.moe.gov.jo/apps/certificate/).

(Important note: If a student is unable to provide the university with the equivalency of the certificate before arriving to Jordan, they can do this process during the first semester).
