Background to the program and subject area:

 

The program was established in the Department of Horticulture and Crops in 1980 to meet the needs of Jordan and neighbouring countries of specialized staff, and to enable distinguished graduates to continue their education, especially that conditions prevent them from traveling abroad. The program includes of 14 faculty members and 12 staff (administrative-academic). The program grants the second degree (master's) in Horticulture and Crop Science.

 

Vision statements of the program:

 

This program aims to promote scientific progress to deepen the contributions of scientific research in the development of related agricultural fields at all levels (Jordanian, regional and international), whether through graduate research or through the contributions of academic and technical staff and the results of scientific research. The staff is also working continuously to develop educational and research programs to integrate new fields and to expand scientific research that meets the needs of the agricultural sector in Jordan and neighbouring countries by attracting funding, conducting outstanding research and developing laboratories and equipment.

 

Mission statements of the program:

 

To Graduate specialists with master's degree in Horticulture and Crop Science have the ability to manage production projects and related factories, and show participation effectively in specialized groups (locally, regionally and internationally) through a dynamic scientific research that has s dynamic activity.

 

Program Aims:

 

1.    Teaching students the scientific and practical courses necessary to obtain a master's degree in the program of horticulture and crop science.


2.    Developing creative skills in the field of horticulture and crop science.


3.    Improve the ability to plan independently to access to distinct programs in horticulture and crop science.


4.    Improve the ability to use scientific references in the writing of scientific reports and display clearly.


5.    Enable the ability of graduates to teach laboratories and some scientific courses in universities and scientific institutes.


6.    Providing students with the sciences that enable them to pursue doctoral studies in local and international universities.


7.    Graduating staff capable of leading the technical teams that contribute to the development of the agricultural sector - the field of gardening and crops, both in the fields of production or through the development of legislation and laws.

2. Admissions that can be accepted:


- First priority: Bachelor of Plant Production


- Second priority: Bachelor of Horticulture and Crop science


- Third priority: Bachelor in any branch of agriculture


Second: Special conditions: None


Third: The materials of this plan consists of (33) credit hours

After checking your eligibility for the program, your electronic application at the next step must include the following documents compiled into a single PDF file (with a size of less than 6 MB):




1.  A copy of the General Secondary Certificate (high school or Tawjihi).



2.  A copy of the bachelor's degree certificate is required for master's students. For doctoral students, a copy of the master's degree certificate with a rating of at least 'Good' is required.



3.  Transcripts for all academic years of the bachelor's degree for master's students, and transcripts for all academic years of both the bachelor's and master's degree for doctoral students.



4. The grading system used by the student's university (for graduates of non-Jordanian universities).



5. A personal photograph.



6.  A copy of the passport.
