The Master's program in Bilingual Translation and Interpreting between French and Arabic was established in 2011-2012. This program is considered pioneering in the field of translation, as it is the first Master's program offered in Jordan specializing in translation from French to Arabic and vice versa. Admission to the translation program requires a Bachelor's degree in French or a double major in French and English, in addition to passing either the DLF or TCF exam at level B2. The program allows students to choose between a comprehensive coursework track and a thesis track.

The program's curriculum comprises 33 credit hours and is divided into five modules: / five thematic axis:

The first axis includes courses that enhance students' understanding of specialized and technical French texts and enrich their knowledge, linguistic skills, and terminology.

The second axis offers courses related to various translation theories, aiming to introduce students to the most important theoretical schools of translation and enable them to apply these theories to the translation process according to the nature of the text and the target audience.

The third axis includes courses focused on interpreting, particularly consecutive interpreting from French to Arabic in the job market.

The fourth axis contains a wide range of specialized translation courses in fields related to the local and regional job market, such as economic translation, media translation, technical translation, and legal translation.

The fifth axis offers a course on the use of computers in translation, which aims to train students in machine translation and computer-assisted translation.​

1. Regular Program (Competitive)

Admission to this program is subject to the admission bases issued annually by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (Unified Admission Coordination Committee).
 
2. Parallel Program

(According to the admission requirements for the parallel/ international program) of the University of Jordan.
 
Admission to the translation program requires a Bachelor's degree in French or a double major in French and English, in addition to passing either the DLF or TCF exam at level B2.

Required Scores of English Language Tests

Please note that applicants who have graduated from an English-speaking country are exempt from the English exam requirement.

After checking your eligibility for the program, your electronic application at the next step must include the following documents compiled into a single PDF file (with a size of less than 6 MB):


1.  A copy of the General Secondary Certificate (high school or Tawjihi).

2.  A copy of the bachelor's degree certificate is required for master's students. For doctoral students, a copy of the master's degree certificate with a rating of at least 'Good' is required.

3.  Transcripts for all academic years of the bachelor's degree for master's students, and transcripts for all academic years of both the bachelor's and master's degree for doctoral students.

4. The grading system used by the student's university (for graduates of non-Jordanian universities).

5. A personal photograph.

6.  A copy of the passport.
