Background to the program and subject area:


 This program was suspended about 20 years ago by The   University administration due to low number of graduates.


In  2017, the department has taken a recommendation to reinstate the program due to emerging large international interests in the subject area of electrical power system and new faculty members in the same field have joined the department.

 

Vision statements of the program:


  to seek excellence in teaching and research in electrical power system on the local, regional and international levels

 

Mission statements of the program:

   the aim is to build up a curriculum in such a way that its structure consists of basic and up to date subjects, so that graduates will have the skills and ethics to develop power systems and solve its problems in a professional manner.

 

Program Aims:

1.    To graduate students with high specializations in Electric power system.

2.    To introduce new topics which have local needs such as renewable energy.

3.    To strengthen ties with local industry.
