Background to the program and subject area:


A three year masters program that encompasses both a theoretical and a clinical part. Students are required to complete a thesis at the end of the program. Upon successful completion of the program students are eligible to sit for the Jordanian Medical council exam in Paediatric Dentistry as well as the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland FFD exam in Paediatric Dentistry.

Program Aims:


This program will enable the postgraduate students to develop skills appropriate for the discipline of paediatric dentistry through course work, seminars, and practical sessions with emphasis on research and preparing a dissertation. Their knowledge and skills will be built on those obtained during undergraduate education and training.


Upon successful completion of the program, the postgraduate student would be able to follow a career in the discipline of paediatric dentistry, with the necessary skills and motivation for seeking continuing professional development throughout their career.

A. General Rules and Conditions

1. This plan conforms to the valid regulations of programs of graduate studies.

2. Areas of specialty for admission to this program:

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS)
 
B. Special Conditions:

  1. The applicant must provide accredited documentation of at least 2 years' post-qualification clinical experience at the start of the program.  
  2. The applicant must be a holder of the MFDS membership degree from one of the British or Irish Royal Dental collages or equivalent as decided by the department council.
  3.  Candidates must have achieved a minimum of B mark in Pediatric Dentistry Courses studied during the BDS or DDS.
  4. Applicants must provide evidence of having passed the English language exam with the required grade, as shown below or other equivalent accredited exams from centers accredited by the University of Jordan, and in accordance with the General Policy of Students' Admission.

Please note that applicants who have graduated from an English-speaking country are exempt from the English exam requirement.

Required Documents:

After checking your eligibility for the program, your electronic application at the next step must include the following documents compiled into a single PDF file (with a size of less than 6 MB):


1.  A copy of the General Secondary Certificate (high school or Tawjihi).

2.  A copy of the bachelor's degree certificate is required for master's students. For doctoral students, a copy of the master's degree certificate with a rating of at least 'Good' is required.

3.  Transcripts for all academic years of the bachelor's degree for master's students, and transcripts for all academic years of both the bachelor's and master's degree for doctoral students.

4. The grading system used by the student's university (for graduates of non-Jordanian universities).

5. A personal photograph.

6.  A copy of the passport.
