The doctorate is aimed at carrying out research work in the field of molecular modelling and quantum chemistry. These works can be either the direct application of modelling to the study of problems of chemical interest (organic, inorganic and physical chemistry) or the development of methodologies, models and specific software. The doctoral programme has a Mention towards Excellence (MEE2011-0153) and has a strong inter-university character (13 different universities). Admission to the doctoral programme is usually carried out after completing the European Master in Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling, although it is also accessible after completing an official scientific master's degree. Training can be completed through training supplements available through the aforementioned master's degree or specific to the doctoral programme. During the doctoral work, students will be encouraged to acquire adequate training in operating systems and programming languages, in addition to improving their command of English or other European languages. The duration will be variable; care will be taken to ensure that the reading is compatible with the European Doctorate.
