The design, creation and innovation option aims to train agents of change. Through a large-scale creative project and rich expertise content, the program allows specialization in cutting-edge design fields and the acquisition of analytical and creative skills essential to the practice of design today. It leads to the development of innovative strategies, products and product-service systems anchored in a rigorous research process.


The projects are carried out in partnership with public, parapublic, private or community organizations. Thematic teams organized around major current issues offer a stimulating framework for their achievement. They bring together professors, students and collaborators gathered around common interests.


The program provides solid training in approaches to defining and creatively solving problems, a distinctive signature of the School of Design. The School of Design, part of the multidisciplinary environment of the Faculty of Environmental Design, enjoys a solid and confirmed tradition in terms of design knowledge. Among the most renowned in the Francophonie and in the world, the School of Design is in the Top 5 of the Red Dot Design ranking, which recognizes the quality of training in university institutions and is a member of the World Design Organization.

To be eligible as a regular student for the M.Sc.A. (development) design, creation and innovation option, the candidate must:
  • meet the general eligibility requirements (section XI of the Academic Regulations) for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a bachelor's degree in industrial design or a related discipline adequately preparing for the studies he wants to undertake, or a diploma deemed equivalent
  • have obtained in undergraduate studies an average of at least 3.0 out of 4.3 or the average required by the home university for admission to a 2nd cycle program, whichever is higher or the equivalent.
