To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XXVII) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Required diplomas and admission thresholds: Quebec

To meet the Université de Montréal average of 3.3 out of 4.3, candidates from this province must meet the following requirements:

Degree accepted: Masters, Masters; duration: 2 years

Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular student in the D. Mus., interpretation option, the candidate must:

  • Meet the general eligibility conditions (section XXVII) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a master's degree in interpretation with an average of at least 3.3 out of 4.3 or the equivalent or a Conservatory Prize or demonstrate other academic training deemed equivalent by the dean
The preselected candidate must also:

  • attend an instrumental audition lasting 45 minutes. The program must be submitted when applying for admission
  • attend a 30-minute interview including a discussion of the thesis project and a check of general knowledge (history, aesthetics, analysis, writing) related to the interpretation project.
The candidate must demonstrate good knowledge of English.
