General eligibility conditions

To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

Required diplomas and admission thresholds: Quebec

To meet the Université de Montréal average of 3.0 out of 4.3, candidates from this province must meet the following requirements:

Accepted diploma: Baccalaureate, Bachelor; duration of 3 years, or another undergraduate degree deemed equivalent.

Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular student at the M. Sc. (veterinary sciences), the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold an undergraduate doctorate in veterinary medicine (DMV), or a bachelor of science (B. Sc.), or a diploma deemed equivalent
  • have obtained in the 1st cycle an average of at least 3.0 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
  • have a good knowledge of French and English
  • Have obtained confirmation that a professor from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine agrees to take charge of your research project
In addition, to be eligible for the Public Health option, the candidate must:

  • have completed the 2nd cycle microprogram ( animal-human interface, environment and health) and 8 credits of the 2nd cycle microprogram ( interventions in veterinary public health, offered starting in winter 2012.
  • have obtained an average of at least 3.0 out of 4.3 in the firmware
  • and, for the supervised work modality, have professional experience in veterinary public health recognized by the admissions committee.
The right to practice veterinary medicine in Quebec may be required depending on the internship or supervised work project.

For students who have not completed the DMV program, additional education may be required.
