This involves ensuring the planning and management of all care and services in order to respond as adequately as possible to the needs of the population.


ESPUM's Master's in Health Services Administration is the only program offering comprehensive training in all the functions performed by managers of health establishments. This is THE training for anyone wishing to pursue a stimulating career as a manager, analyst, consultant, planner or to complete a doctorate in public health.


This program aims to train leaders who contribute to the performance of organizations in order to improve the health of populations.

  • Healthcare System Management (MSc with internship): Among the only 3 Canadian programs accredited by CAHME, an American certifying body ( Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education )
  • Global Health (MSc with Research Dissertation)
  • Evaluation of health services, organizations and systems (MSc with research paper)
  • Analysis of health organizations and systems (MSc with research dissertation)
  • QUEOPSI Patient Safety Quality Management ( Quality, Experience, Evaluation, Organization, Performance, Care and Services Partnership, Safety and Innovation )

Admission requirements

Undergraduate

3.2+
To be eligible as a regular student for the Masters in Health Services Administration, the candidate must:
  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Academic Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold an undergraduate degree from the University of Montreal or a degree deemed equivalent
  • have obtained, in the 1st cycle, an average of at least 3.2 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
  • For System Management, Quality and Patient Safety Management, and General Requirements and Additional Information options:
  • have taken a course in biostatistics within the last five years. In the absence of this course, the student must register for three additional credits, either take the course: MSO 6060 Basic concepts in biostatistics or equivalent, at the start of their studies.
  • appear for an interview, at the request of the admissions committee
