Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible for the Ph.D. (educational sciences) program, the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a degree equivalent to a master's degree from the University of Montreal or attest to training deemed equivalent by the dean, on the recommendation of the department director
  • in exceptional cases, hold a bachelor's degree and, on the recommendation of the department chair, be allowed to enroll in a special doctoral program
  • have obtained in the 2nd cycle an average of at least 3.5 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
  • demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the French and English languages ​​as well as any other language, when this is essential to the program in which he wishes to register; the candidate may be asked to take a knowledge test of this language
  • accept that a professor serves as his research director and guides him in the choice of his courses and in his research work
