One of the consequences of globalization is that societies are becoming more and more multicultural. The peaceful coexistence of the different religions plays a decisive role in the success of coexistence. The Religious Studies course reflects what religion actually is. He asks about the types and forms of religion, eg in early religious forms and in the "world religions", but also about their history and their relationships. Interdisciplinary perspectives offer the opportunity to analyze and understand the relationship between religion and culture, religion and society, and religion and nature.

The course also examines new religious movements and the issue of religion and violence, as well as interreligious dialogue and its basis, interreligious learning. The aim of the course is to impart basic methodological knowledge in the sub-disciplines of religious studies, to introduce the major religious traditions and topics and to familiarize them with religious-philosophical thinking.
