The consecutive and research-oriented master’s degree in history imparts in-depth academic knowledge of different eras, regions and sub-disciplines of the subject. The epochal (ancient, medieval and modern history) and geographic (German history, European history, global history) breadth as well as the thematic diversity of the courses offer students the opportunity to develop specific study and research priorities.
The aim of the course is, among other things, to give an insight into the basic conditions of historical change as well as into epoch-, region- and culture-specific peculiarities and characteristics. In contrast to the bachelor's degree, the focus of the master's degree in history is on the independent development and further development of current research questions.
