The subject of geography combines scientific and social science approaches and lies in an overlapping area between the geosciences, biosciences, social sciences and economics. The course deals with spatial development problems and the interactions between people and the environment, in particular between economic activities and the ecosystem. It is internationally oriented and examines natural, social and economic areas in different continents. Natural risks, landscape-ecological investigations, urban development and international relations are of particular importance. The B.Sc. Geography International is a four-year geography course with a mandatory year abroad that is unique in Germany. It complements the three-year B.Sc.
