The eight-semester "International Bachelor's Degree in Languages ​​and Cultures of India and Tibet" imparts specialist knowledge of the languages, culture, philosophy, literature, religion and society of the Indian subcontinent and Tibet. The regional connection between the Indian subcontinent and Tibet is given special consideration. The main goal of the course is to acquire language skills (focus on Sanskrit, Hindi or Tibetan) and specialist knowledge of cultural and social developments in India and Tibet. The course is divided into two main areas:


  • Languages ​​and Cultures of India
  • Language and culture of Tibet

An integral part of the course is the acquisition of in-depth or basic language skills in two chosen languages ​​(depending on the focus Sanskrit or Hindi or Tibetan and one of these languages ​​as the second language). A one-semester stay abroad in the target region offers students the opportunity to gain experience abroad, knowledge of the country, and intercultural and communicative skills.
