Business informatics is an independent field of knowledge that deals with information technology, communicative and business issues. The Master's degree in Business Informatics is a cooperation between the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Natural Sciences and is a research-oriented, interdisciplinary degree that also integrates practical issues. It deepens the knowledge and skills of the students in the fields of business informatics, economics and computer science, for example in the areas of application development, software technology, operating systems, databases, Internet technologies, e-business and process modelling.


The students should be able to classify relevant theories and concepts, use tools and methods, analyze and solve practical problems and act responsibly with regard to the effects of technological change.

Admission Requirements

  • Graduated from a consecutive bachelor's degree in business informatics at the University of Hamburg or a comparable degree from a university or
  • Degree in another bachelor's degree in which comparable academic achievements in economics and computer science were achieved with the consecutive bachelor's degree.
