The British and American Cultures: Texts and Media master's program focuses on the literature and culture of Great Britain and the United States. The course offers an innovative approach to central works, theories and methods of English and American Studies (British and American Studies). The underlying concept of text includes the written word as well as theatre, film, television, painting, graphic novels, music, fashion and other representative practices. The course also familiarizes students with demanding and current topics in literature and cultural studies.

The career prospects for graduates of the master’s degree are wide-ranging, since the degree is not limited to a single job profile. An excellently completed master’s degree also enables you to start an independent dissertation project with the goal of a doctorate and subsequent research work.

Other options include working in press offices and editorial offices or as an editor for a publishing house. With the appropriate additional qualifications, jobs in the economy are also possible, for example with international companies in the areas of export/import, sales, marketing or human resources. Experts in British and American cultures can also be found in management consultancies, libraries, cultural institutions, in adult education or in non-governmental organizations.
