In our two-year master's program, you will receive an overview of the social science foundations of peace research and security policy. Applicants need 180 ECTS. If you can show 240 ECTS from previous degrees, you can shorten the duration of your studies to one year. The "Peace and Security Studies" master's program is the only one in Germany to date that combines questions of security policy and security research with a peace science perspective.
The course combines research- and practice-oriented learning and is interdisciplinary: knowledge and skills are imparted at the interface between social sciences, law, humanities, ethics and natural sciences. This is made possible by close cooperation with other academic institutions from Germany and abroad that are thematically related to the work of the IFSH. It is about current conflicts in individual regions of the world, specific aspects of peacekeeping, disarmament and foreign policy.
